Nice gar you got there, I really like the spotted tail. Perhaps it was eating flakes that were stuck together to form more of a disk. Mine will snap at flakes but I doubt they actually eat them.
apparently he/she eats spirinula flakes? dont know if its correct spelling?

i know there is often some confusion over this one but from my understanding florida and spotted are different - look the same but one grows larger and they both have differnt names - occelatus and platyrhincus - again probably not spelt right! my point with the lfs guy was that they are not the same! there are differences (though apart from eventual size, i cannot tell!
