My HRPs breed quite frequently and usually I sell off the babies before I can see what they grow into.

Someone I sold some of the babies to sent me pics of his adult fish. They looked like parrot hybrid fish with the squished body look. I didn’t really like them.

This last batch I have rescued a handful of babies to grow them up and see how they turn out and keep a few more females.

I ended up with mostly males and I again sold them off keeping the only two suspected females.

Well one tunred our to be a male and one is female.

Having a hard time selling this male. But I think they look good and he should be a nice colourful adult male :)

Anywhoo I just wanted to share a few pics

Usually my breeding male does not show any black bars while my breeding female always does

I still have one female from this batch, the last one. The female might be a sub dominate male as it’s starting to gain some orange color in the fins since the brother was re-homed

the parents now have wrigglers again, I couldn’t see the eggs as they have made quite the nice little cave/home in the new tank. I could only see the wrigglers fro t a top view of the tank, the female is guarding them between the rocks and driftwood

Very nice!! I've kept Cons in the past, an absolute favorite of mine! But I was considering HRP instead when setting up new tanks now. Is there aggression similar?

My HRPs are physically smaller than any full grown con I’ve owned and I find them to be less aggressive.

however, when they have eggs or fry they will fight any fish in its territory. My 3 inch HRP stands up to my 9 inch JD every time.
My HRP also gets bumps and cuts when defending his batch of eggs/fry only to recover and go about his fishy business when his job of raising them is complete.

I also have an aggressive molly fish that lives with the HRP and they flare at each other as well no damage to each other though they mostly bluff each other

I sell the fry for $1 each, larger 1.5 inch fish for $2, and the larger 2-3 inches for $5.

however, I have a feeling you are in the US and I am in Canada.

I’m not quite sure how that would work as you would need to have the proper documentation and the cost of shipping would be astronomical.
You might be better off just purchasing local or just pay for shipping in your own country.
