First planted tank stocking suggestions

If you are able to do co2, you'd might as well do it and add some of the more demanding kinds of plants imo. Java moss will grow in almost any conditions and swords are very hard, both nice plants but with co2 you could have more variety.

+1 on the nerite snail recommendation.

I think that a school of larger/deep bodied tetras should be ok with the leaf fish, and if the leaf starts picking them off, well... tetras are cheap

you can really only have more variety with co2 if you have the lights that match it
personally, I don't really see the point in running co2 if you aren't going to have high lights as well, most of the low to medium light stuff grows fine without it
My set-up will be high light in a few weeks and even then I won't be running co2 right away, not until I see signs that I need it
sometimes, I think of co2 more as a supplement for most plants than as a necessity
plus, I'd be more worried about what would happen if you didn't use co2 correctly than I would be about the possible benefits (if that makes sense)
I'd say only do co2 if doing high lights

define "brightest lights" if you could, what kind of lights are they and if you know the spectrum that'd be swell too
amazon swords are pretty hearty, so are crypts and java fern and anubias, along with most hygrophila species
hornwort also grows like a weed from what I hear, though tbh I've never had it cause some of my fish thought it would be better as food rather than decoration
