To make Your choice between delhezi and senegalus a little bit easier:

They are both quite similar to keep. Maybe senegalus is a little bit more creative in finding food. Some people would call that aggressive. Their prey can be about half their size. Delhezi will hardly ever eat anything larger then a quater of their size. Delhezi is a little bit more peaceful.

On the other side, I know, that senegalus has reproduced in captivity. So far I have not heard anything like that from delhezi.

Senegalus is quite easy to determine. Even stupid fishsellers can tell what they are. When You buy a delhezi, You might not receive, what You really wanted. You might get small endlicheris instead (they look surprisingly similar, when young), and they can grow up to 2 feet long.

Well, thats why Im going to buy my Delhezi from Toyin. I'm sure he can differentiate between Endlicheris and Delhezis. I trust in him.

The same care applies to all species of bichir the only change is in the size ofthe tank and possible tankmates
P.delhezis have been bred in the far east and into a bandless variation too.

This is correct, and I have seen an example of 95cm in our museeum of natural history(in formalin). But do You really know someone, with an enlicheri larger than 2 feet? Mine is 7 years old now, living in a 2000 liter tank an has hardly exceeded 1 foot so far.

All I am saying is they have the potential to reach that length.

Also at seven years it has only lived half its avg lifespan of 15+years who knows how old
a 95cm endi was,as for the size of your endi I suspect some possible genetic flaw.I have seen endis hit 18 inches a 2 years.I have a female ornate 3.5 years old approaching 17 inches-Anne

"also for the 75 gal.... I would get 1 senegal 1 albino senegal 1 ornate and 1 delhezi"

Can an ornate fit in a 75? I have 2 small (3" max) senegals in an 80 gal, and would like to add at least one more poly, either an ornate or a del, but have shied away from the ornate due to size. Advice??
