I picked up my first stingrays about 2 weeks ago. 2 reticulated stingrays, 1 male, 1 female. These are pups from AJ. I actually met him through a local fish club before seeing him here, and he was kind enough to meet me halfway at a fish store in MI to drop them off to me. Before I picked them up, he double checked to make sure that I still wanted the male as he did not take well to the shrimp like the female had, and had become a little skinny. He assured me that I could fatten him up with live blackworms, and work on weaning him off them later. After 2 weeks, it's safe to say that he has put on weight and is eating like a champ (live blackworms). The female was no problem, she was already plump, and treats the blackworms like crack. I am going to start mixing in some different foods with the blackworms starting this week to see if he will take to something else. Right now they are currently in a bare bottom 20g (the rays are only 4-5" disc diameter, and AJ assured me they will be fine in it until my 140g hex is ready), and are doing great. They are very active (the female tends to hide a bit behind the sponge filter, but the male is constantly out and about), eating great, and are a pleasure to watch.
(excuse the quality of the pics my cameras suck, and excuse the amount of pics, but I love these two!)
