So I just got a second Oscar and they did the dirty. Here is what I came up with. The eggs are on slate, inside the 2.5 gallon with pantyhose around it and a bubbler inside. Then that inside the 15 gallon with a screen zip tied on it. I have the right return from the fx5 aimed into the tiny tank. Is this good enough, or what should I change about this set up. I'm limited with supplies and I didn't want to buy another heater and filter, but I have a 20 long, 15, and the 2.5 gallon tanks to work with. Do eggs hatch on day 3?

well I would start by letting mom and dad fan their eggs but thats just me... I wouldnt seperate from parents until they are free swimming,,, My guess is that they arent going to hatch now... But if Im wrong feel free to tell me...

dont mean to come off like an @$$ but that is the weirdest breeding set up I have ever seen...

Good luck!!!

yea i agree give the parents a try first couple of spawns . some times its a learning curve for them also

i also would have kept the eggs with the parents until they've been free swimming for a week or so.. but let us know how it goes

So the eggs hatched today. I'm still taking them out, but so far I have 271 live swimming fry that I have in a 15 gallon.
