First snake!

the king is nice looking,even if it started to be a biter,its not gonna hurt much.Youll have more fun with that than if the thought was never their,lol.Makes it more exciting.They do like to act like little rattlers with the stance dont they.
 
Very nice. We have a striped one at work that strikes at everyone. Pretty funny when someone is digging through the substrate looking for him and surprise.
 
Yeah its been 3 days since it fed now, so I tried handling it, he really is a nasty one lmao.

He rattles, its cute, then struck me a few times - which I barely felt, but once I had him out on my hand, he calmed down.

What might some of you experienced snake handlers say would be a good handling schedule to get him used to being handled?

Or will they - as young - always be like that?
 
even if you did it once a week it would start to get used to you... Just really emphasizing you don't need to do it every day, maybe every few days say between the time it's digested it's food and it's next feed. Also if you get it out to feed it, you'd have that interaction too. Good luck with it.

young kingsnakes are a little fiesty. i handle my black and white cali king every other day and he still strikes me. doesnt hurt nearly as bad as my viper boa!!! acualy you wont ever feel the bite, lol
