My teacup is having some problem, and I have no idea what is afflicting it. The water quality dropped while I was out and when I came back the gill chamber was puffed up/inflamed and it was acting erratically up and down the glass. I have since changed the water and am continually monitoring it. It still eats blood worms and it has since settled down; but the gill chamber has not subsided. It is too late to grab medicine tonight but is there anything I should be looking for when I go to the LFS?

There are also might be some worm like parasites with an anchor like mouth in the tank. These would of came in with a fish that was in contact with the tank for a bit. What is a ray safe medicine or agent to rid the tank of worms?

Thanks.

I dont know about the gills but ive succesfully threated against various worms and parasites with salt. Had anchorworms twice and used salt, up to 0.5% which dropped them like flies. Also a temp of 32 degrees C helped. As salt is safe for rays, i would use around 0.3-0.4%.

Just calculate the amount of water. If you have a 400L tank, 1% would be 4 kilos of salt. So if you want to start with 0.25%, you add 1 kilo of salt.

I would lots of waterchanges and maybe add biospira to the tank.... also dissolve the salt first before adding it
