no, but the guide said he's had a fish spool a reel all the way out and TAKE the pole!!!!:ROFL: That would suck...

wow imagine seeing a sturgeon swimming around with a rod hanging out of its mouth ?!?:ROFL:
 
nice catches i will be going for some lake sturgeon in a week or 2 but they wont be as big as those sturgeon u caught
wat size hook did u use and how did u put the shad on the hook?

Cool idea...but the sturgeon has raspy scutes along its back that can cut thru the tube.
BTW they did that on In Fisherman Critical Concepts. Great Show. What happened to it? They cut it!!
Anyway, they used 80 lb test (braid i think) baitcasting reels, and huge, dead Shad wrapped in a half-cylendar of plastic so the bait sinks.

not sure on the hook size other than it was about 2". and the shad was hooked threw the back about 7 times looping towards the head, then hooked threw the forehead. cut all fins so it doesn't spin in the current. and your good to go:)
