Dude there is no telling what you'll get on live rock. 99% of it is pretty harmless or even good for your tank bristle worms are one of the best scavengers going and they are harmeless 99% of the time. Copepods and amphipods are the basis of the tanks food chain. I've gotten stars, urchins, tunicates, sponges ,"nothing know to man smells worse than a dead sponge", crabs, hermits, atapsia, algae etc..... and have seen more than that so your guess is as good as mine. The beauty of using mostly base rock to start with is that you have a whole lot more control over what is in there.

Everything is still going fine. If params are still good, this weekend, I'll get a couple more Damsels, and trade the manatee on a bucket of salt or something.

I spent $80 for the skilter, $30 for live rock, $20 for Aragonite substrate, $20 for BioSpira, Tank was free from my half brother in Indiana, $24 for stand, $20 for heater, $12 for salt and $20 for RO water with 14 gallons to spare, $13 for hydrometer, $18 for 7 gal Aquatainers for hauling/storing water, $8 for fish so far. Total: $ 186

12 dollars of Purigen would do serve you well.

I will be adding Purigen after I am positive the tank is cycled.
