no problem you prob already know this but you should Quarantine your goldfish before you feed. and also try guppies ,mollies, and Cray fish to the meanu if you don't end up pellet training. And maybe put a pair of sunfish in the pond so the gar can eat the fry of the sunfish . Lots of members tend to feed pellets tho this is the only fish I feed live to tho no problems at all just rapid growth

I'm pretty sure I have them quarantined? All of my feeders are in a 10g with filtration, air pumps, and a heater. I plan on at least keeping the black spotted eel and the dempsies when I take the tank back to school in the fall, so do you have any suggestions on what I should put in there? This tank is the highlight of campus, and I want to keep it that way.

Yep your doing it right my friend ! You looking for schooling fish? Predatory fish? Or those really nice looking fish thay move around alot

I'd really appreciate some predatorial fish, but ANYTHING cool would be just fine. Like I said, I just want it to stay the "highlight" of campus.

You probably shouldn't add anything else.. just a suggestion..

Can you get a close up of the eel???

That's the best I can do. The camera scares him a little bit. Just a normal black spotted eel. He's about 8" long now. Having a hard time getting him to eat. I know he only eats 2-3 times a week, but I'm worried I'm not feeding him the right thing... (bloodworms)

Well, I'm in college now until May 5th. When I get back home, I plan on changing to some type of sand substrate, new decor, and have no idea what I want to stock it with. I'll definitely keep the JD's, but probably relocate the Midas and Gar. Any suggestions? And what does MTS mean?

I graduate myself on may 7... :)

I love JD's, and a 55 will do for quite a while, but I'd upgrade once they get a bit bigger.

Your rehome plan sounds fine.

I don't know about the eel. I have no idea how big they get and how fast.

A beautiful pair of JD's will def be a highlight. Just make sure you watch nitrates :) Again, emphasizing I don't know about the eel. Someone chime in.

beautiful tank you got there! but like you said you're overstock lol that tank will not fit once your fishes grows out of it.

I'm forsure going to keep them. I'm planning on mating them soon. I think the 10 gal (clear of feeder fish) will be just fine for that. Anyone know exactly how long, on average, the mating process takes? And maybe what signs I should be looking for?
