I agree about the fish being skinny. I'm sure the competition in the tank at my LFS contributed to its small belly. I've been feeding 2 times a day (frozen krill, frozen blood worms, live black worms and the occasional school of guppies. In time I'll try and get them on pellets but I want them to get used to myself, the tank environment and fish mates before shocking them anymore.
It's ironic that everyone says the concern lies with the pbass eating the tiger while my smaller tiger has successfully blinded two out of three pbass in the same tank . They're all roughly similar sizes give or take 1" difference with the pbass being bigger.
I try. Only way I can is by "tricking" the pbass. I put live blackworms in one end of the tank. The Pbass rushes over and picks off the worms one by one. While he is distracted I load the other side with black worms and frozen blood worms. In doing this I try and give a little more to the dat in hopes of keeping the fish similar in size.
Even though the Pbass is a more aggressive eater, the dat is by far the more dominant fish in the tank.
you started off so well with the topic of your thread calling your new fish a tiger then the first line of your post you changed your mind and started calling it a dat
