Well my bevels have turned out pretty good so far but just realized I probably didn't increase the strength of the tank much just realized the weld on 40 I got and have been using is expires does anyone know what happens as weld on 40 ages? Mine expired last month was half full gallon when I got it

It just loses its clarity as most resin does… no biggie… might b a bit yellow. I wouldnt worry. As long as it hardened properly u should b more than fine.

I've learned so much about this product here and from all I've read, it's hard to go wrong using it, in fact, it seems THE way to go.
Found a couple of sites that have decent (if that word can be used concerning this pricey stuff) prices.

will silicone stick to acrylic for a small leak in the corner of a 350 acrylic tank
nope… just creating a future problem for urself… it will “bandaid” ur problem temporarily then come back to haunt u when it fails. For a small leak id try to use solvent #3 or #4 to re bond the affected area then go over top of that with #16 weldon to seal the deal. Do not use solvent when the tank is full also. As always, the best and strongest glue for acrylic repairs is weld on #40… but if it really is a “small leak” my 1st response will do the job for ya ??

Super sorry guys life's been busy but I did end up completing my project currently housing some shubunkin goldfish and koi by no means permanent setup just wanted to get it going with something in it cheap and quick I will include pics of when I first got the tank and now and a few seam pics none of its perfect and I don't consider myself extremely handy but I'm pretty happy with what I managed and to me it looks a million times nicer than what I started with

How much #40 did you use for your 180? Did you do all bottom vertical seams? I've got a 180 to do and am trying to figure out how much to buy. Thanks

I used somewhere around a quarter of the gallon kit I had sorry I can't be more specific I did all seams bottom seams verticals and around the top you wouldn't need to buy the gallon kit but might end up cheaper to do so if you have a use for the leftover weldon
