First Time Dealing with a Bichir Injury...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
might be be his out grown his tank, read somewhere that they tend to do this and after that they jump, make sure your tank is safely secure, add rock salt in the tank, he should be fine, might be stressed out thats why his swimming wildly

Oh... btw... i finally found out what the injury specifically came from... you know those tank hoods that have semi-perforated sections for adding your filter, heater, etc? Well... after I created those holes, I neglected to sand/file those little perf tabs back down... that's what he got hung up on when he was striking at the chinese algae eater towards the top of the tank... just thought I'd throw that out in case anybody else has forgotten to file those little buggers off...

BTW, he's doing fine now. The spot is still a little on the light side, but it looks much much better.

Yes sir! :)

So... after I filed that down, he scraped himself yet again on something else... not sure what. I DID get a picture of it this time... so... I'm starting to think he might have some kind of pain/pleasure complex... lol

Anyways, I don't think this one is so bad. Tell me what you think...
