Hi Everyone,

Here are the ingredients for the beef heart recipe I found on the web:

1 lb. beef heart
1 lb. shrimp
8 garlic pieces
1 carrot
1 small container of spirulina pellet (OSI)
2 vit C capsules
7 multi vitamins capsule
1 food processor

I would like to hear experiences first before I actually start, I prepped everything today and plan to mix it together tomorrow. Is there something I should watch out for before mixing everything together? If you have any advice before I start mixing, please let me know...

Thanks Everyone in advance!!

What's going to bind /hold that mixture together? Why so many vitamin pills ? If Vit pills are for humans each one is close to the RDA for 150 lb. human?

I use baby vit drops w/o iron it's easier than crushing pills in a blender. Go to the Grocercy store in the food presevetative aisle it's called Fruit fresh it's just Vit C powder. GL

Too many vits in there, also try banana. I'll try to dig up the recipe I used a few years back...

Good thing I ask first...i will remove the vitamins and look for the vit C juice. I am using knox gelatine as a binder..thanks again Mr. Pleco.

Yanbbrox, wouldn't the banana cloud up the tank?

mash the garlic up pretty good and the spirulina into smaller pieces. keep the shrimp and the beef heart pretty chunky but mouth sized. less suppliments unless you have arnold shwasanager in your tank. mix it all together and then mix it in with flavorless gelatin when cooled. pour it into a dish and let it set, then chop it up.

I did a lot research before hand. I read you can substitute with whatever you want. just keep researching on the web to find the ideal recipe for your and your fishes. I will update tomorrow once I am done with it.

funny thing i came across this. i just finished making fish food last night/this morning i used:

2lb shrimp head + shell
1lb carrots
1lb green peas
5 cloves garlic
gelatin
and i threw in about 5 cups of koi food i had lying around
