First time owner any advice

Was about to as the same question, i am getting 5 2'' monos this weekend.
Sorry to hijack but how long would it be safe to leave them in the small tank. I.e what would be the best size to move them?

#1 most important is to get them to take pellets and get them past any initial ick they may have picked up during transfer. After that just keep plenty of food around they like to eat

hi, I thought Peacock Bass is a carnivor and how it will take the pellet? then, if they are omnivor who eat both pellet and fish, what kind of pellet (brand and type) that will be good for them. Thank you in advance.

mine eat a mix of hikari pellets, some times im shocked by how much they can eat.

Noted that. So hikari pellets will do for them. I prefer a fish that can eat pellets rather than other small fish. Thats more better for me, easy to get their meal, cheap and simple.

No worries mate, just seen your from sydney too. Your mono's would prob be from the same batch. Just guess from your name but you ride aswell aye?

Mine are in about the same size tank as yours were. They are at about 3 cm now, eating pellets and bloodworms
Got a 50g ready and getting a 180 in 1 and a half months

Are yours heaps shy, they come out if i sit infront of the tank for 5 mins but walking past and they dart behind all the plants etc?
