well its hunting season right now and i won't be able to do anything until november so i will be saving until then. making $200 every two weeks for three months would give me enough i would think, im still trying to figure out the perfect P but the black rhom is on the top of the list as of now.

when i start breeding mollies they won't be a all the time food, the mollies would be mainly for my smaller lemon oscar in the 55 gallon tank and maybe every once in a while give some to the P.

i have fish in my 75 gallon tank that are a little bit scarce for there mates, my pacu is flipping out, my oscar is flipping out, and my parrot fish are attacking everything it can. so i am kinda waiting until i find out what i can do with these fish before i get a P but i feel i will be needing to rid of the pacu in the months to come.

another quick question, are there any fish that can safely be housed with any P? if seen people that do, my dad had a pleco with his P's and i was wondering if there were anything i could put in there that they won't eat. kind of a stupid question but want to get the tank set-up in my head before on the ground.

people have varied success with tank mates. there is a sticky about it in this forum. i have not been able to successfully keep a pleco with shoals usually ends up geting tagged. i only tried twice. and then sd skrew it.

another out of the blue question, what should i set-up the tank like? how can i make the P a little more happy and more comforting. right now i have blue gravel with a couple decor caves and some rocks. but i am thinking sand. i would like a little bit more detail on what is best for the P to be happy.

real plants

ok and how would i go about making it suitable for real plants? sand, gravel what?

I've used both sand and gravel before, doesn't make any difference that I noticed to the fish's well-being. As far as the plants though, dont use anything fake, get the real thing. Some piranhas eat plants on occasion as part of their diet and it is said to help improve their digestion. Real plants also mimic the more realistic environment they come from.

ok because i want sand but don't know if it would be ok. so maybe a sandy bottom with a black back a large piece of driftwood placed among plants kinda of hiding any open spots in the driftwood giving a more hidden hiding spot.

how does that sound? just kind of brainstorming right now

sounds fine, whatever your preference is for decoration. Much more important to make sure the water stays clean and suitable more than anything.

what form of filtration do you think i should go with?

where can i get one?
