I'll never owned a rtc before but I rescued one from my cousin and he's now house in a 55 gallon with an Jardini Arowana ( dont worry just for now until they get bigger) anyways i was wondering what do i feed him? at the moment im feeding him frozen Brine Shrimp and what time of day do i feed him because some people i know feed theirs at night and i was wondering if do i feed him at night or in the day or whenever i want so let me know thanks

get rid of him. he's gonna get 4 foot plus. literally bigger than your tank.

He should eat any time, but I try and keep all of my fish on a schedule. You can feed fish filet, squid, shrimp, Hikari Massivore Delight or Sinking Carnivore, Algae Wafers, Silversides, earthworms, etc. If you're feeding him brine shrimp, he must be pretty small, so a lot of these things are going to have to be cut into small pieces in order for him to take them.

Edit: Also, please review the needs of this animal. It's not a rescue if you can't provide for him, either.

How big is he? If he's really little, then maybe you can try the sinking carnivore pellets by hikari. As far as I can tell, they are the mini version of massivore. He could also probably use some blood worms while he's still really little. I feed my big cats a mix of hikari pellets: massivore, sinking cichild gold, sinking waffers, and algae waffers. Then they randomly get tilapia, worms, and market shrimp.

thanks he's about 2-3 inches and sorry for sounding like a jerk but dont worry about me and worry about yourself THANK YOU AND HAVE NICE DAY HATERZ

I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about the fish. I hope you take all of the information that you were given even if you didn't necessarily want to hear it. It's all equally important.

And I see that we are either 15 or way to "cool" to spell correctly. That's fun. In case you don't get it, "haters" has an "s" not a "z", I know all your neat rap music teaches you otherwise, but it's true. Good luck with your fish sir.

thank you very much sorry im not a real jerk but i love raising fish and love hearing advise from others but sometime the truth does hurt dont worry about him he's gonna be given a new home as soon as i move into the new house.

Just be aware that the 55 will last for about six more months. That's the time frame that you have, and he's not going to hold on for anything. He'll keep growing. Take your ego (which has already reared its ugly head) out of the picture and consider that this is a life with the potential to become a wonderful, personable pet. If you can't care for him, then you need to find someone who can. He is still of the size that most LFS's will take him back.

dont RTC grow 2 fêet in the first year?
