I have heard they are slow growers, compared to parachromis, JDs, etc. but I have never personally owned one.

Mine grew really slowly which is probably why my last one ended up getting killed. He was growing out and I added a few regani about half his size (about 2-3") and they got to 7 before he did. Power shifts are always violent.

Pretty impressive with the tape measure in the shot too, about 14.5" from nose to tail.
