Fish and 240 Tank Progression

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
:WHOA:AMAZING tank and the fish are great! The last shot looks :swear: AWESOME...What lights do you use and where do you buy your plants?
The light in the last pic is the sun shining through the window.... but Michaels craft store is where I got the plants they are way cheaper for what you get then buying other ones... the most expensive ones were around $8.99. Im not sure if you have any out in Wisconsin but if you have a local craft store its just the fake plants that they have there... Thanks for the compliments

i love how only a few people say how great the tank looks but most instead wonders where the rtc is going and how its gonna eat everything.

You have a wonderful tank
Thanks a lot I appreciate it... being 21 and in college it took a bit of time but it came out great... Also i agree with what you said about people worrying about the RTC growing and eating everything but in my opinion if he's well fed then there shouldn't be a problem.

Nice shots and tank. I think I'm gonna be taking a trip to a craft store tommorrow thanks for the idea

In a month or two, a couple of fish I see in the shot (not the oscar) will become food for the RTC.

Hey guys. I am the roommate of the OP. My name is Taylor. We really do appreciate all the kind comments. It makes all the time, money, and effort into the tank worth it for us as we feel like the tank is being appreciated by not only us but others as well.

As far as the RTC eating the tank mates, it is something we are aware of. the leaf fish has been with the RTC since day one in the 55 he started out in and he has never once looked at him as a food item. Granted the RTC was purchased at around 2 inches and as he grows his view on food will change. The Jewel cichlid was raised with the oscar in the other 55 that we have. At the time there was no where else for them to go as the 55 is currently being used as a grow out for our Fahaka puffer (120-180 coming soon for him). IF they get eaten, well, it will be an expensive snack. That, and our other roommate, the original owner of the 55, is against trying to re-home them as he has somewhat of a connection to them. We tried to explain the situation to him but he wanted them in the tank, so if it happens, it happens.

I am uploading more photos right now so we will have a couple more in a bit.

I like the simplicity of your setup. Is that PFS you're using?

Ya its is PFS... to fill 240 gallons it was just the most economical route to take... I love it though and thank you
