Fish are getting sick

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just slow down and think things through. I would not a a broad spectrum antibiotic because guess what, your filter bed is loaded with nitrifying bacteria. These will take a hit. Put a good ion scavenging media in the sump such as Chemipure or just activated carbon. Get all traces of ammonia and nitrite out of the tank by chemical filtration instead of frequent water changes. Fish are hardy and can recover as long as they are not subjected to constantly changing chemical and pH parameters. Good luck.

Hope they get better. Advice for next time you purchase a new fish never put it in your show tank-always put it in a quarantine tank to make sure the fish is healthy.

very stupid to randomly pour in a wide range of antibiotics. Very stressful and very unneccesary. As said salt your an up the temp...3lbs of salt per 100 gallons, up the temp to 85...add a little pima and melafix if needed...

yea add salt and is that white spot dieases? b/c none of my fish ever got dieases so idk know how most dieases look like

I totally forgot about this thread. The retro didn't make it. But everyone else is still alive and doing great with no sign of anything. I ended up treating with salt, melafix, and pimafix.

hope your fish are doing good
i had the same problem, i bought a sick fish and all my fish got sick, had to put them on a quarentine tank, they still there i added salt and the temp at 85, they are doing 100% better
always remember at least twice a week inspect every fish closelly for decease even if they are in a healthy envyroment
