Just like a dog or a cat they become part of your lives. I think people don't realize when a fish is well cared for just how long they can live. Your children can grow up with a fish that you may have had for 15+ years. If thats not part of the family then I don't know what is. Some people just can't relate and thats a shame on thier part. They don't what it means to be attached to another living thing other than themselves. Us as keepers of these wonderful animals know the bond that one can have with them.
