I just moved into a new house and I'm looking for some fish themed art to go in my fishroom. Can anyone point me to some good artists that do fish themed paintings/prints? I see plenty of sport fish artists -trout, saltwater fish etc, but very few freshwater fish art. Looking for angelfish, geos etc...

If you find any, let me know. I'd love some beautiful drawings/paintings for my 'chillax' area, and finding artists that draw/paint freshwater fish is rather difficult. :)

to get anything painted now I always ask art students. They will often make nice sized paintings for around $50 and of anything you want.

this is such a good idea. i actually know someone that has a degree in art. i never would've thought of asking him to paint something for me.

One tip: offer to pay. Artists don't tend to appreciate it when people ask them for free things, especially not when it involves more time-consuming projects like paintings. Someone you know might not mind, of course, but it's still a nice thing to do.

id definitely offer to pay him.

that's why I said usually costs $50, they are students and honestly take more pride in someone enjoying their work then the money

I have a fine arts/painting degree and I find that I'm often persuaded to do paintings/drawings for beer. Good stuff though, Dirtwolf, 90 minute, stuff that makes you forget that you have a skill that you can't make a living doing. This angle would be extremely effective for college age painters.
