Fish at local restaurant display pics

In my opinion, this is an animal welfare issue. Those fish are going to need a tank a minimum of 6 meters long (if that albino catfish is an Asian red tail) or 7.8 meters (if it's a channel catfish), otherwise they will be stunted and cramped.

That said, those first few pictures with the pleco are excellent. Thank you for sharing.

With the $ in that tank I wouldnt even bother trying to tell other people how to keep their fish. But its a nice change from an usual goldfish , common pleco, oscars around here that I see crammed in those tanks.

Speaking of the money in that tank. Isn't that something like a 2k dollar pleco? Full phase 3 going on

Hypostomus luteus
They go through phases from 1 to 3 broken down by .5 increments. Very cool fish. I'd love to have one myself. One this big and that nice I think could easily go 1500 to 2000 if theyre still bringing what they were a few years ago.

Well, the JDM style tanks started off in the far East in food markets. It didn't matter how stuffed the tanks were because as the day progressed the stock in the tank would be "reduced".

This tank is in a restaurant after all.....so......lol

I've got to say though, that pleco is possibly one of the most stunning fish I have ever set my eyes on.

I agree 100%. It is AWESOME. Btw I was wrong. They're not 2k. Predatory fins has a few in the 15 to 16 inch range in full phase 3 line this one for $750. Still a chunk of change. That's my damn house payment nearly lol

Check again at the eye of that catfish. Too much of a pigment in the eye to be an albino with no red going on. Dont you think? Just asking to confirm my doubt of it being an albino ARTC as I am not crazy about light forms of any kind of fish. Hence me thinking its still alot more $ than a mere albino the owner dropped in that tank. Regardless of what cat species it is.

The ''albino'' catfish is actually a platinum South American Red Tail Cat.
