Fish ate glass

He was 12-13 inches.. He would violently rush to the top of the tank to be feed. So much so that I actually had to kind of open the lid and drop the food quickly because he would jump out of the water to get at my hand. He must of thought he saw food rushed up attacked the glass.. I'm just shocked..

Id go with a plexiglass top then instead of actual glass if you plan on getting another fish like that. I'd never put glass above my red hi fin and he has similar habits to the ones you've said your water cow would display, jumps after food, a couple times after WC etc. He's only 7 inches, that water cow seemed like a real beast at 12-13 to break glass. Was his nose messed up?
I'm not accusing or anything but is it possible your son may have broke it somehow? Like playing around it or something? You didn't say the age of him so I had to ask
