My FW moray Eel just attacked one of my Brazilanesis(sp?), I'm not sure it will live through the night. Should I take the hurt fish out? What to do with it? It was attacked because it was eating the eels shrimp dinner and the eel caught it instaed of the shrimp piece. The eyes look hurt (it was caught by the head) and there are cuts on it's face. I really liked this cichlid, but it was'nt that old, so I guess I could get rid of it. How? If I can save it, what do I need to do? I did get some of the action on video. Thanks for the info.

I call my female kenyi one eye willey now.... For the same reason. She now has one eye.. Lived. Still is one of the masters of the tank infact... If you like it see if it lives.. I would..

Seperate the fish to a hospital tank and lightly salt the water (1 tablespoon per 5 gallons) add some melafix if you can. This should help prevent infection by fungus or bacteria. As long as the wounds do not get infected the fish should heal, they can survive some pretty bad wounds.

there isnt a freshwater moray, i believe there is one that is truely brackish though, but thats it
