He will eventually get those at night. But may take a while. I put 200 feeder guppies in with two 12-16” tropia gar in a 350gal, And there are like 5 generationa of guppies now. They eat them when they catch them. But I feed cut fish and or pellets every day to them. When a gar is young they need a lot of feeders to constantly be able to catch them. I’d suggest lots of guppies or if you can get a decent healthy minnow. Like 20 at a time. They catch the majority in hours. The rest get picked off at night.
