Fish Compatability?

As long as i keep the frontosas feed well would they even worry about eating the enantiopus? Even though the Frontosas might get 1' + the enantiopus get over 6". I just cant see that happening. Although i have had flowerhorns kill and eat other flowerhorns almost as big as them.

If you're set on it then go ahead and try. Just trying to save you some $ in the long haul. Plus, your enantiopus would probably not color up and/or spawn very well with fronts in the tank. Just my 2 cents

A large part of why i was considering fronts was because i wanted a colony of fish in the tank. Does anyone think that a colony of tropheus would work in the place of Fronts?

Hate to pull a debbie downer, but, no. Tropheus are best kept alone or with a few select species. You can get a large number of enantiopus in either tank. For a 180....Say, 9 enantiopus, 15+ cyps, and a group of benthochromis (which are like cyps that are 10") and you will have a vibrant tank that should produce lots of fry.

Trophs are spectacular and are best kept with petros, gobies, and cyps can work too, but not sand dwellers.

i keep duboisi in my malawi community, and they do fine and actually breed! i may just be lucky though... the male is by far not the biggest fish in the tank, so he only bothers the female or any new/smaller fish... it could work, but i've heard that tropheus can have aggression problems.

What do you mean? They are tropheus?

I mean are the mbuna or open water fish or somthing along those lines?

They're most similar to mbuna. Rock dwelling fish that feed on aufwuchs.
