Fish compatibility question: jaguar cichlid and redtail (juvenile)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yah, i meant redtail catfish. Okay, I hold off on buying one. How the heck to you properly quarantine goldfish anyways... I don't have the resources to breed my own livestocks. My jaguar is growing very fast by the way. It is still an inch+, but looks very muscularly and the pattern is getting richer.

Even quarantining doesn't rid the fish of gill flukes, which is the #1 malady that's present in *almost* all goldfish, fancy and feeders.

Feeding goldfish:: Don't do it.

Breed your own livebearers. If you have enough of them, it's worth it! And much better than having to quarantine fish all the time, or treat them after you buy them. Plus, this way you are sure you are bringing the fish up on good food its whole life, so it's a more nutritious snack as well.

If you quarantine them properly with the right medications, they will be rid of gill flukes. The point of QTing is so they are disease/parasite free.
