hello and i was thinking about having the following fish in my tank i already have a bichir and a freshwater lionfish and they get along great i was wondering if some leaf fish would be ok with them i am pretty sure that they'll become lunch but if they had enough places to hide and blend in would they be safe? i was also thinking about haveing some smaller pike cichlids (maybe lepidotas i like that strip they have )like 10 inches in with them if the leaf fish are not an option or maybe an apollo shark something that would life up higher in the tank. would 2 lepidota pikes be ok with bichir, some freshwater lionfish, and maybe 1 apollo shark? i know i have alot of questions. i know that the adult size of these fish would be all about the same (except the leaf fish) and that would protect them from eating one another, but doesn't mean they won't torment one another to death, and i also am not sure at what speed they grow. thanks for helping

What size tank? What type of "Leaf Fish", What Type of Bichir, What Type of "Freshwater" Lionfish?
As some "Freshwater" Lions are infact brackish water and would not do well with polys or leaf fish...If you are looking for activity you don't want any fish considered a Leaf Fish "South American, Ctenopoma Etc" is going to hide much of the time

well i kinda like that hiding and ambushing personality and my bichir is a sengal and my lionfish is a fresh or brackish they can have either or. and the leaf fish i was looking at is monocirrhus polyacanthus and my bichir and lion get along great i just have caves for them

^ Can you post a pic of your freshwater lion fish??? since i've never seen one and would love to see what they look like...

sorry thats the best i can do oh and i was alos considering some different cats like a jaguar

freshwater lionfish is also a stone fish. and sry I dont know much about compatibility of them with leaf fish.

I have African Leopard Leaf Fish, (Ctenopoma acutirostre) and they NEVER hide in my tank.I really love to watch them swim all peacefully in the tank with my cichlids. It's great to drop a worm in the tank and watch them attack them! Mine a very active, and not afraid of anything.
