This is a pretty good write up

Also, in a smaller tank I would say your would be lucky to have a pleco, crayfish, and zebra danios

In the 350, if it is heavily planted you can get away with alot more. If you keep them well fed, smaller fish would still get eaten, but be able to survive much longer. If a Pacu is raised with the reds, they can cohab for some time- its just a matter of time when they realize they don't like him anymore.

Take a look at this tank, it is the best RBP setup I have ever seen... AWESOME cohab.. His P's breed and he does not have to seperate the fry.

This is not my tank.

That is a 600 gal (i think) with only 11 pygos, TONS of other fish, and plants

wow that tank is amazing..

I have had a rosey red left in the tank after the cycle whos been with them for about a month. Is right in on the action ripping apart shrimp with them. Ill be sad once I wake up and hes gone :(

I also have ghost shrimp, started with 10 only counted 5 the other day and a crayfish. The Crayfish molted after the second day and was gone after the third. I also have a common pleco that hasnt been touched and some mollies that have some nips but havent lost one yet.

Eventually I expect them all to be eaten at one point might pull the pleco out and put him in a seperate tank once I notice more aggression towards him

Might even pull the minnow out and give him his own ten gallon!! Start the monster minnow league!!

That is a really nice tank, and I would love to be able to do something like that. I can't see myself just putting Piranhas in a 350G tank and having just them swim around, I would love to get a little ecosystem going with different types of Amazon fish and plants.

Any good places on getting plants and other things to go into a tank?

Thanks all,

Christos

Since its so difficult getting tankmates for piranha, plants and a realistic enviornment is definitely a good choice.

Having a planted tank like that takes lots of planning and money, check out the planted forums for advice on getting plants / maintaining them. Most tanks like that need expensive lights and CO2.
