The OB that I mentioned had his fins turn black and got black spots - another did it today. His fins fade into black, being pitch black at the outer edges. He also has black spots along his body, like the OB. They are not raised, it all looks like fish coloring from too much spirulina, or stress. Those are the two largest fish in the tank though, no one ever messes with them. Maybe the constant water changes are stressing them? They certainly don't like them, even if it is necessary.
The LFS had packages of Erythromycin for 19.00 a box - it would take 8 boxes to do my tank. That's just too much. So I ordered enough Furan 2 (furazoladone, it was on table 3) and API general parasite treatment to do the tank, and now I'm waiting. I had them done 2 day air.
