fish dying in the same way

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i dont think its columnaris...i dont see fungus growth or any lesions onn any of the healthy fish, the pike did eat a few bloodworms today, but still not himself. he can usually eat half a prawn to himself, which actually makes me wonder if he could be choking a a shell i may have missed when i was de-shelling. do you guys think that could be it? but that doesnt explain the tiger becuase they didnt eat prawns at least i cannot recall seeing them do it. Also, could gill flukes be the culprit?

I don't think that would explain open mouth. Are their mouths constantly open? Maybe there's some mis-communication, because that's what I understood.

its a possibility even though the fish in question arent commonly affected by gill flukes, if you have a magnifying glass you may want to net the fish and look behind the gill plate for possible damage and you may be able to see tiny little worms, or worm attached to the inner gill, not sure how quick you are losing fish, but if fish are dying quickly i would assume if gill flukes, it would be a pretty heavy infestation, it also spreads quickly and is a pain in the ass to rid your fish and tank of it

Not columnaris. The dat died today cause I was unable to administer the second dose yesterday due to a power outage. He was making substantial gain so I know I got the treatment right.

The mouth was more open like he wasn't getting enough air and the lips were very thin like.

my pikes mouth is constantly open and his face just looks inflamed. he is eating though but not as much as normal
