MY STOCK: 30gal Breeder (Whisper 60 + Aqua Clear 50)
4" Tiger Oscar / 6" Silver Arowana / 1.8" Jack Dempsey / Spiny Pleco / 2x Leopard Plecos / 4.5" O'opu Nakea (Polynesian Cup-Fin Gobi)

silver arow REALY?!!! I have a 75gal with a few Cichlids in it and I had the opertunity to buy a 4in one and didn't because I didn't think a 75 was a good home for one I thought maby 3months tops that 6in needs a bigger tank now.

Oh my
I've got fish in my 250 g tank with an Oscar that are plenty tiny enough to get eaten but they're way too fast for the Oscar to catch. Plus they hide most the time. Yea, let the Oscar have the 75 g to himself, there's really not room in there for more than him.

... need i add to my quote that the silver aro is going in to a 500 gal tank that currently has catfish that will eat it at this size FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME?

Need you really list all the fish you keep under every post you make? ;) Catch more flys with honey ;)

As for the oscar eating the texas, afraid it happens, but, in all honesty, as the fishes keeper, you shouldn't have let it.

I'd be gutted if i came home to find one of my fish had killed, eaten or even attacked one of my others. Means im not doing a good enough job in caring for my pets. You wouldn't let your dog eat your cat would you?

What bites at me is that your quite happy to take a photo, post it on a forum and let the world see. its quite bluntly Grim.

Okay, maybe you should reread the entire thread to get why I posted the picture. And yes, I guess the fish was a little to small, but obviously he wasn't that small if the oscar couldn't eat him.

I suggest you take reading lessons, maybe then you'll understand what other people post.:screwy:

I read it all mate ;) Dont insult my intellegence.

I wasn't offensive in my post, i simply stated my opinion regarding a, frankly, foolish decission with your fish. What upsets me is your willingness to show this (lets not dance around the facts) animal abuse on the internet.

I'd be, frankly ashamed to show this to people.

Now i "suggest" you go take proper care of your fish.

animal abuse? I think you need to take your opinions elsewheres they are nothing but lies.

Larger fish eat smaller fish thats a matter of fact of nature. The op posted it looking for advice not a lecture. Should he have put the tex in there? probably not but others have done so without issue and as he stated he's never seen his O go after something that size.

is it animal abuse when I breed mollies as feeders for my O's? what about whe the O eats a smaller fish in it's naturaly habitat?

no what you are seeing is instinct and a natural feeding habit. and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about as truly if you really cared about them you would be protestign in front on the lfs about how it keeps it's feeders or the tanks size or how many floaters are in there with other fish due to bad keeping habits.

go grab your paint can and wait outside a celebrity's house.

leave hobbiests alone.

oscars are oscars they eat/kill other smaller fish its not up to us if they kill a smaller fish its what they do . and about getting smaller fish somtimes people make mistakes geting fish to small and their oscar eats it. it dosnt have to much to do with care for the fish.

I actually find your post quite insulting.

Fish eat fish. Sometimes you get unlucky. I have fish with my O that he doesn't even bother to go near that would fit in his mouth, then suddenly one day he decides to eat one of my convicts. It happens.

This is what you call nature. Its not always pretty. Calling this animal abuse is bold exaggeration.

What you call it is a mistake, and I'm sure you have made them to. So, instead of insulting the OP try giving advice.

BTW, my cat killed a bug last night and ate it, and yes I'm ashamed.
