Fish eating terrestrial animals

Something used to eat several ducks (sometimes several a day) in my friends pond
When I lived in Houston we had an apartment in a big complex that had a man-made waterway running behind it. It was full of all sorts of ducks that were always having ducklings, but you never saw any juvenile ducks. Took the dog for a walk along the backside and stumbled upon the culprit, the biggest Alligator Snapping turtle I'd ever seen. He was an easy 30" front of shell to back.

Turtle probably not the only culprit
