If they've settled down already then it was more than likely a small territory dispute or dominance issue. Overstocking isn't a cure all for mbuna aggression. Mbuna aren't stupid and if they want to chase a specific fish, they will. That being said, you shouldn't really have too many problems with so few fish in an 80 gallon.
