FISH FOOD!

My Oscar gets bits of melon, squash and peas. He also enjoys large gutloaded crickets, earthworms and a spectrum of different algae wafers, koi pellets, and tropical foods like massivore and hikari. You can't skimp on O nutrition. Hole-in-the-head is always knocking at the door, even if your fish has never shown symptoms.

for pellets, flakes and things like krill, dried worms and such, kensfish.com cant be beat.

i have 2 pacu that are 2' each, and can easily eat 1/2lb of pellets a day. trust me when i say, out of all the places i found, kens was the absolute best as far as price and nutritional value for pellets.

Hikari Gold and staple pellets, night crawlers, blood worms, fresh market shrimp, algae wafers, crickets, beef heart, random flying insects caught around the light on my porch.

A good diet is a balanced one. I feed my Jardini, pellets and bloodworm every day. Then live food once or twice a week, and crickets or some other type of insect once a month. ( The insects are 90% protein )

If you have only 1 fish, heaps of filtration and water, and do regular water changes, you can feed the fish heaps and watch him grow QUICK. Just remember, when it comes to dead food ( pellets etc. ) only feed as much as they will eat in 3 minutes.
