What could I put in a 125 or 150 for their whole life?
here is a list of fish I wouldn't mind having

motoro rays
silver aros
black aros
jags
RBP
RTC
TSN
dats

well basically any type of monster fish

just give me what could go in a 125-150 and I could make a list or one of you could make a list for me

Im getting one in a year or two and I still don't know if I want a monster tank, planted discus tank, or a larger marine FOWLR tank.

thanks guys,
-Kevin

I have bred RT Motags in a 125... wouldn`t advise keeping anything else even with 1 of these in there. Have had several that were serial killers.

RD would work...Midas...Jag..Trimac...FH. Just about anything CA or SA outside of Dovii... not sure about the Viejas and such..and Umbie. Matching them up full grown will be the problem.

A 150 will only give you more volume not foot print which when dealing with aggressive doesn`t help. Unless a fish hanging in the top corner is considered territory.

the 150 gives little more width acualy and I don't understand this statment "I have bred RT Motags in a 125... wouldn`t advise keeping anything else even with 1 of these in there. Have had several that were serial killers."

also I would really like to keep some rays in there and I would love to get a RTC untill it got to big and then I would prob sell it off.

Thanks,
-Kevin

Red Tiger Motaguense... standard 150-72.5x18.5x 28.5 125-72.5x18.5x 23.5.

Standard tanks come in what can be termed short or tall... unless you are talking about a 150 long from Glass Cages:)

rays and rtc's are bad ideas for a 125/150, not a big enough footprint for rays and a rtc would outgrow the tank in prob 6 months plus eat anything that would properly fit in a 125/150. maybe oscars, lima shovelnose, bichirs, dats, skys the limit. a single fahaka would be awesome!

Add the TSN to that list also... huge fast and massive waste production. Also easily injured. Saw one at a pet store in a tank to small. Sad really.:(

most aros get around 3 feet as adults so you'd have to plant on a larger aquarium. should be a good home 'till he hits 20", though.

get a fahaka, you won't be disappointed.

Fahaka's don't really interest me...maybe some red bellies? How man of those could I keep in a 125? maybe a clown knife? I think a breeding pair of jags would be cool. Or maybe a couple pbass or flowerhorn.....or mayeb I could do a native tank.....maybe a bass and some larger sunnys or maybe some needle nose gars? I'm still open to ideas.....I might not go monsters but go with a nice discus show tank....idk I really want a monster so its still up in the air.
