  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Listen I took him back and got the jack demsey you may be right about the oscar i just read that article that i posted and tha advise from the fish store and fiqured it might work. But dont call me retarted.I dont know that much about them just the info i get.The five five is saltwater he cant go in there.

Kudos on switching them out. The dempsey will be much better for the 55. (still to big for a 30 though)

Come on rallyman that 30 has got to hold one jack demsey i took the oscar back they dont get as big.Thats the only freshwater tank i got.

It will hold it no doubt, but when (if) it gets to 10", he would appreciate some more room.

Ok, I am a little confused. You make a thread about advise for what to keep in a 30 gallon tank. We all give you good sound advice. You then disregard the info given to you and purchase an Oscar. You take the Oscar back and get a Jack, which by the way can get just as big as an Oscar. My suggestion is to take the Jack back and get 2 black convicts for that size tank. You are only hurting the fish in the long run. My 2 black convicts are very happy in the 30 gallon tank that mine are in.
My Opinion: Dont ask for help if you are not going to listen to what anyone tells you.

Nobody told me not too get the jack demsey they told me not too get the oscar i took the oscar back. The woman at the fish store assured me it would be alright in there she said see i got a flowerhorn in a ten gallon.Maybey you should have said not too get it before i got it man.If you reed the artcle i took the advise given and took it back.I asked what to put in it before i stocked it.

Thease guys must be retarted too. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/21346/caring_for_your_oscars_fish.html This is where i got the info but ill take your word for it.Kinda think the jack is better suited for the tank anyway myself.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Anyone can post garbage and there is nothing anyone can do about it. On that link, it planely shows the picture and name of the girl that posted the informaition. There are no credentials or sources posted; there is no peer review. Just because she has good writing skills does not make her an expert. Nor does the ability to post on the internet! If I were to post a nice write up that stated that ten gallons was sufficient, who would be right? At least here on MFK there is peer review (though not always good information is being passed). And don't think that trading the oscar for a JD (really nice one BTW) is going to save you from the aquarium addiction. :grinno:

You are getting sleepy....verrry sslleeeeppy....you can only hear the sound of my voice....you must buy fish tanks...you must buy fish tanks....fish tanks....fish tanks...
