...But dont call me retarted...

I don't think you or your fish were being called retarded. That was directed at the deformed fish that irresponsible fish owners were trying to pawn off on the LFS.

You have shown more responsibility than most other members here. KUDOS!!!

Agreed, it takes a lot of responsibility just to post a request for information on a web site, and not take the internets writings as whole truth. You are on the right track to becoming a very responsible fish keeper, and addicted to fish. :D Personally I like the convicts better than the common jack dempseys. Now electric blues are another story. The convicts will also breed, and you may have some free food for your puffer.

I think what everyone is trying to say is just because something can survive doesn't mean it will thrive. Has anyone ever heard about the Girl in the Box, she was kidnapped and forced to live under a bed for 8 years. She survived, but she did not thrive. Same with the fish. Would you rather sleep on a kingsized bed or in the closet? Give your fish a happy home, listen to yours peers on MFK (especially the mods) and we will all be much happier (you, me, all of the other members, and your fish!)

Good Luck

I thought this was monster fish keeper where we push the boubderies of an aquarium we dont have miners in our tanks if it says it will hold it will hold it ill take there word for it.I ate more fish than that at long joghn silvers yesterday.myself i think he will thrive in there by himself how says your more experienced than me. I want advise but not bad advise thankyou.

We also make suggestions of what we think will be best.
Its opinions

You asked for advice... We are ]v[onster fish keepers, but we are also responsible. The advice given to you is from experience, and that is only opinion. If you don't want to take that advice that is your decision. Remember that a minimum tank size means MAXIMUM maintenance. Another thing to think about is that if you go to a LFS, even a reputable one, most will sell you a common plecostomus for your 10 gallon tank. Some of the species of common can attain sizes of 24". Also, at a Petco or Petsmart they will tell you that a pacu can live in a 20 gallon, sometimes 10 gallon, for life, and that they grow to the size of the aquarium. That is false, they will live their life in that tank, but that doesn't mean that it is a full life.

Take what advice you want, we can only advise what we think is right, but ultimately it is your decision to do what you want.
