fish for thin tanks?

so 12" wide you could go with 6" fish for best results, but 8"-9" would work since the tank is 96" long and the limited turning is mitigated somewhat by the length.
however only being 4" high really limits your choices...

What? It's 48"x12"x21"
 
I'm still confused as to why the original question wasn't - "what fish can I put in a 55 gallon tank?"...
