Fish Going Blind ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not sure if I'm getting this right but you're feeding him one pellet at a time? How about try putting a bunch in and net out whatever he doesn't eat after 10-15 minutes?

Unless I drop or hold it directly where he is he can't see it or so it seems, I put in the feeders because I don't figure it would get much worse to be honest, there are still two in there with him

My old betta Bruce was blind in one eye towards the end of his life, I did the same thing as you basically, dropped the pellets on his good side so he could see them, I also had lily pads on the waters surface that I would feed him between so that the pellets didn't get blown around the tank on him - although I don't see that working with a large cichlid haha

On another note my sister has a goldfish that has no eyes, idk how long its eyes have been gone for, but its still alive, still finds food and even manages to find its way around after its tank upgrade.

There are ways to improvise with blind fish, it just takes some trial-and-error type experimenting. :)
