Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any fish hatcheries that carried smallmouth bass and would ship them? I've tried searching other posts and haven't found any with current info.

You shouldn't be searching other posts, you should be searching the internet! I got good results just googling "fish hatchery florida."

After googling I got a whole list of hatcheries in Florida, unfortunately I didnt see any that sell smallmouth bass......have you thought of Spotted Bass, they are about the same size as Smallmouth and just as aggressive.

also coosa, or redeye bass are much more agreeable size wise to smaller aquariums, with a common size of 6-9 (roughly 1#) with the very rare occasion of reaching 2#.

If you google "fish hatcheries" you should find a list of national fish hatcheries across the county with contact information. Good luck

430 gallons is not a huge amount of water to a fish that can reach 11# but to each his own, just trying to help.

No thank you its much appreciated... what size do recommend cause if 430g is not big enough then building a pond is not out of the question cause its whats best for the fish not my personal needs ya know...

How many Smallmouth do you want to keep? Smallmouth do best in cool highly oxygenated water with current, which is probably the reason why it was so hard for me to find any hatcheries in your area that stocked them. In Orlando this could be a little more expensive to keep than your local Florida LMB.

It depends on how big of a tank or pond you want to put them in on how many Smallies you can comfortably have.
