Fish ID!! Barred Midas?!

yeah now that i look closely he even has the whole two toned eye, even a little bump on his head so maybe this little guys got some potential.

is really hard to determine between amarillo/barred midas. give it some time, see what it grows into.

If it is real small it will probably peel into a regular midas. Its not a chancho, saggitae, or amarillo or any other a. species if it came in with midas. I can guarantee its from the same batch as the colored midas it just hasn't peeled or isn't going to, quit confusing this guy.

introduced him into the 210 ill post some updates and pictures of the tank over the weekend, that is if i spruce it up because im seriously embarrassed with some of the other tanks i see here.

How would you do that? The only to "prove" that's it's anything other than a Petsmart rd/midas would be genetic testing.

I fully agree with Camphilophus. The simplest answer is usually the correct one.

I wanted to post an update of the barred midas i bought, this is the one in the picture, 1 of 2 i bought.

Check out the difference

You can see a little of the original color in the back of the fins/tail but thats it the rest is a sharp white and black with bright red eyes.
