satanoperca jurupari or satanoperca daemon. There's a few others but I'd need to nice size and stuff. It's a satanoperca something.

Satanoperca jurupari, have barring on the muzzle (side of the face) not spotting/spangling like the OP's fish has. That rules out S. jurupari as well as S. sp. 'redlip' and S. pappaterra. That only leaves of the non-spotted Satanoperca with muzzle spangling, S. mapiritensis and S. leucosticta. S. mapiritensis have a no spangling on the flanks under the dorsal fin, this fish has a fine line of spangling under the dorsal. That only leaves S. leucosticta.

Satanoperca daemon belong to a category of "spotted" Satanoperca within the genus, S. lilith = one spot on the flank, S. daemon = three spots on the flank, S. acuticeps = four spots on the flank.

Your welcome! Satanoperca is my favorite genus so I enjoy the ID's TBH. I don't think you overpaid at all. A couple questions, wild caught? If so do you know the collection point? There are many regional variants of S. leucosticta out there and frankly I would have pegged this as S. mapiritensis if it were not for the slight line under the dorsal.

<<<------------ See my old female S. mapiritensis in my avatar, very close. You have a sexy fish none the less when it settles in.

I'm not really too sure if its wild caught or not, but i will try and ask the lady who her supplier is if youre interested.

I am going to mix some black sand into my PFS so my fish's colors will stand out more, it should make him/her look even better! At the shop he was all lit up and showed lots of pearling and green/blue.
