This fish was sold to me as a peacock bass, which I was almost positive it wasnt at the time, but it was 12 inches long and in a 15 or 20 gallon tank. And it had one real bad cloudy eye and looked horrible so I took it home with me to medicate him back to health. Felt sorry for the little guy...
We just told you.... it is a bay snook X urophthalmus. Very unique fish. There is no possible alternative. It has telltale characteristics from both of the two species, which no other cichlids have.
I hope you enjoy the snookXuro. He really is a very unique guy
I highly doubt there is any other info or other photos, as I believe yours is an unique specimen, unless if some of its siblings survived, whereever they may be.
I didn't think it was possible either, but apparently so.
just looked trough my massive cichlid book and it is identical to the petenia splendida picture,so my guess would be that or a hybrid with some petenia in it.
