Fish ID plz JD?

I picked this bad boy up on Craigslist, was listed as a Jack Dempsey but has, to me, more of a green terror appearance? Opinions? I know its a bit small but any guesses on sexing?

Looks More Like jewel Cichlid and they dont get that big and have a attuide for the size

Yeah, I didn't get to see him in the tank before purchase (already in a bucket), he is said to be quite aggressive, previous owner said he killed all his siblings already, only a few months old... I have some unknown beast in my midst... Soon as I got him in the tank I saw he wasnt a JD, but thats what he was sold as. I dont mind, I only paid $10 and he looks healthy and active. Saved him from a toilet flush if nothing else. The large spot on him made me think GT juvi, as all the images I have seen of GTs have that same spot but I didnt see any juvi picks. I am hoping to find out what he is so I can put him in the appropriate tank lol.

Could be a Jeweled, hmm, interesting... Doest have red like many of the pictures I see but does have the speckles on the fins. Well, win/loss, got a new breed of cichlid/didnt get a possible mate for my JD... oh well. Majority vote right now is Jeweled. Anyone else to chime in?

Well you have me guessing if my other one is even a JD now, and it came out of the JD tank at the lfs! lol. Here are some pictures of this baby. Same crappy camera so yeah... This guy likes to move around a LOT more... had a helluva time trying to get any usuable pictures. His top dorsal? fin has a red line running the along the tips... Camo coloring, was the most unique in the JD tank.




I see I need to wipe down the back of my tank... embarrassing
