Here is a fish I scooped out of a lake I was fishing in the other night. I was fishing for bullheads at about 11pm when I scooped him up with a 4" fish net. He is currently BFF with my Blue Ram. I'm thinking it's some kind of bass.

Can't answer your question, but I want to complement you on your Blue ram. Of all the tropicals I have they are my fave. The color in your's is awsome. Even stands out in the blurry pic.

That fish looks cool. I was wondering, aren't you afraid of contaminating your tank with some kind of disease from a fish you caught at a lake?

Nope.

Can you tell me why you're not afraid of introducing disease from a wild caught fish. I believe most hobbyist would at least quarentine a fish caught in the wild before introducing it to an established tank. Any type of infection or parasite can easily be transferred to an established tank. That is something most wouldn't risk but to each his own. Maybe someone else can chime in, The Doctor.

The tank it is in "IS" a quarantine tank. I don't recall saying otherwise. And it "IS" being medicated. I am not afraid of disease. I am very good with the introduction and medicating of fish. My license plate even reads "FSH DR". I am not a 12 year old with my first 10 gallon. I appreciate the concern. But I don't appreciate it when you assume I know nothing and try and poke at me with words.
