and besides, if it was trimac, would it not be pruple instead of red on the body? trimacs arent red my friend, they are purple, and only behind the gill plate, not down the entire body. i think it is a FHxConvict. cool fish though

We don't have Petsmarts in Australia.

Essentially, noones really sure whether the C. trimaculatum lines we have over here are completely pure, which is a good example of why hybridization can skew 'pure breeds' of the hobby in countries where imports are very limited.

I'd be confident it's a Convict x Flowerhorn, or a Convict x (Flowerhorn x Trimac).

It definitely looks like a hybrid....but I seriously doubt that you would find a Convict crossbreeding with a Trimac. My best guess would be a "whothehellknows."

It's a "firecon". Convict X firemouth. They've been showing up a lot lately. Look at the rosy breast, the more sloping forehead, and the lateral line.

Though I don't know why people are so intent on guessing what hybrids are. It's a hybrid!
