Today I picked up what was labeled as pacu from a pet store but I’m now skeptical on if it’s actually a piranha I’m sorry for the bad photos I did my best

What about the teeth these guys have small razor like teeth idk if baby pacu have piranha teeth or not though I can’t find information about it and I’m well Informed on pacu

Can look like a piranha from the teeth but mouth doesn’t have the underbite. To me it’s a pacu.

Okay thank you I also see the underbite but the one thing I’m stumped on is the teeth pacu should have human like teeth to help crush nuts and berry and vegetation while piranha are made to shred through anything in their path and my fish has underbite like a pacu but teeth like a piranha

It definitely Looks like a Pacu and teeth does look Piranha like.

I wonder if it is possibly a hybrid or new Pacu species with razor sharp teeth.

I don’t know about it being a new species lol but being a hybrid is very believable and might be the case but if it’s a hybrid then how do I get proper information on proper care

You probably won't find any info but if it was me I'd care for it as a omnivore.
